Both are in practically brand-new condition. Purchased in November to install on the bike, then decided to trade it for a new 1300 GS  :001:

Didn't fancy giving them to BMW for nothing, so they're now for sale on ebay.

Realistically, if the BMW has been well maintained, it should be fine. The big service intervals aren't cheap, but most of the cost is things like brake fluid flush and so on- easy enough to do at home if you're so inclined.

If the valve train is solid at this point there is no fear that it will have problems beyond normal wear as time progresses. My bike has well over 60k hard miles on it and it's near perfect internally.

Hi all,

I have come across a 2014 bmw s1000r for sale.
Which has done 49k.

I want advice on the ownership of a 2014 bmw s1000r. Issues that i need to look for and how much more expensive will be compared to my current motorcycle honda cb1000r.

Reason to upgrade would be silly but sometimes that's all it takes  :112:

A lil bit about my 2009 honda cb1000r done about same 49k and got it serviced recently with valve clearence done, big one came up to $1300 nzd its a great motorcycle but certain things I don't like about it.

Mainly the dash its So basic, no revv limit indicator, no gear indicator, no modes, no traction, no quickshifter, no abs who even needs one  :082:
Teaches me to be a better rider and take it easy.
It's not a flashy motorcycle and gets unnoticed that I like about it.
I use it for everything, daily commute to work, weekend rides, long rides, track days.

Quickshifter can get it installed but is it even worth investing $1200 on a part when I can sell it as it is and get the bmw for similar price.

So is it worth it to buy a bmw which had done 49k and potentially get buried it repairs or is it going to be a better upgrade.

I will be upgrading to my favorite motorcycle tuono in next 2 years or so.

I was planning to keep the honda for as long as I can and have tuono as secondary motorcycle.

Please share your views and thoughts

Thanks in advance  :152:
