Valve Check and Specialty Tools
on: June 10, 2021, 08:34:27 PM
Hey guys, I'm getting ready to do my 18k miles service.  I am looking for information on where to buy the specialty tools required such and the timing tool set and the special pliers for the clamps on the throttle bodies.  If anyone else has done this job I one love to learn for your experiences.  I tried searching the forum for the parts numbers of the tools and came up empty.

ordered mine form MaxBMW - 83302152854-SET OF GAUGING FIXTURES-$249.08(this includes the 2 'Special Tools')

just used long nose pliers for the clamps

If there is clear access these work:
https://www.amazon.com/Pliers-Clic-R-Mercedes-Collar-Repair/dp/B07F8W7QNM/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=click+it+pliers&qid=1623445392&sr=8-8
One way on, turn them over and they are for taking off.
I also use long nose and long reach pliers as needed. I have that BMW tool in the picture and for 120$+ you can make do being careful.
