LED Indicators
on: February 27, 2021, 01:44:03 AM
Hey everyone

So fun fact, BMW no longer sells LED indicators in Canada (I'm in Toronto) because of stupid regulations.
But I think they're still available in Europe? Maybe the States.

So does anyone have any BMW led's for a 2015 S1000R? Also open to paying you, you order them for me and then ship haha

Would appreciate any help.

Thanks!

You are probably going to have to add resistors(even with the OEM BMW LED indicators), there was a setting in the diagnostic computer at the dealers that they could 'activate' the LED option, this is not longer available(and it has been around 3 years since this BS has been in effect). i have some aftermarket LEDs installed on my '14 (with resistors) and the work fine.

Yah the dealer I was talking to was saying the same thing about the resistors. So friggin dumb, who decides this crap and determines LED aren't "good"? -_-

Also, order two sets of rear signals.  You don't want the extra long stalk fronts.

You will need to order the rear sub-harness, part #61118549114. It'll take a while to arrive- it won't be in stock in North America.

My LED lights work perfectly fine without any resistors.

Mine also worked fine, but I had it coded before the NTHSA decided to bam them. My XR however could not be coded, the tech could not find the option anymore(post NTHSA)

Love these, after seeing this linked post I ended up putting them on my Zero and R. I've not seen anything better at any price and they are $20 for all 4!! Tapped the running light circuit for the fronts, brake for rear. Easy to do but there is simple splicing to do, I don't mind a bit cutting off the OEM connectors. I leave enough wire to solder them back on if a future owner wanted to down grade back to OEM.
I made blanking plates for the fronts and painted black, as the OEM's are oval and these are like most - round stalk. Looks very clean.
