IIRC, and I certainly may not since I was really asking about 2015-2018 bikes I was considering buying, the dealer said the switch to nissan calipers was for all new bikes (RR) moving forward. Reason it came up I think was I asked about the issues with the current model RR which was what was holding me back from considering the current gen (plus I like the looks and comfort of the 3rd gen RR).

I have a 14 R and a 16 XR in the garage. The R has the same brakes as the previous Gen RR(12-19), with a radial MC and the gold Brembo calipers. The XR has the same brakes as the R1200GSW.

I appreciate that these are different 'style' bikes, but I much, much prefer the feel and performance of the brakes on my R, they are just sharper and more confidence inspiring! I have put on a RR mc and gold Brembos on the XR and things are much better for me, but a word of warning I do not think you can mix the RR caliper with the XR mc or vice versa.

R/RR Brembo gold caliper - 4x34mm piston
XR/GS caliper - 4x32mm pistons

Exiting! Going to be a long wait, though, I imagine.

This may well have taken top spot for end can contender. I spoke to John at Racefit this morning and when I have the S1000R I'll pop over to Racefit HQ up the road from me and check for sure that the RR and the R share the same mounting points.

Looks pretty good! Similar to the SC CR-T but quite a bit cheaper.
