db noise

Hello,

I have been looking at places to find the OEM Exhaust figures for the standard exhaust on a 2018 S1000r for using it for track days, now I didn't really find an true answer to the question (maybe I was looking in the wrong places!!)

I opened up my V5 form today and low and behold there is noise level in db's on their with it being tested

So a standard 2018 system large akro end can.

stand still: 94db
at 5,500rpm
and
drive by was: 76db

I don't know if this is just the figure plunked from the stats and how true this is

I know the 2014-2016 are different as they have the short stubby can.

To be honest if anyone wants to share what they are getting at the track with what system let me know. It would be good to know results people are getting with the system they have and how much the s1000r differ from another, I know that it can depend on if the engine is red hot or what mode (rain,road,dynamic, pro) you are in but would be good to know what you was getting.

I cant remember the actual dB figure, but I know when I had the standard headers on with the GP Akra fitted and in Dynamic Pro mode I passed every track noise limit, even Croft which is pretty strict.

Haven't yet had chance to check the full Arrow System yet, but we did spec it with track noise regs in mind so fitted the longer can to it.

I have a 2018 with the Akrapovic shorty and failed Mallory with 104db even getting the engine hot and in rain mode. But passed Castle Combe with 105db, never tested oem

2015 bike with standard downpipes and cat, fitted with short Akra can, the static DB was 96db when last tested at Brands.

The short akro and standard header at 104db is going some on the db!!! Full system maybe 112-114db!!

I'm really surprised at the Akra shorty being that loud on standard headers.

I'm going to have to dig the dB killer out for mine for next year and remember to take it with me.

AR Racing are saying DB levels tested at 5500 rpm are below 97 db on all options and the exhaust flapper valve as stock in the closed position
For higher db levels you must remove the cables from your exhaust flapper valve to open the valve. This will allow much higher db levels (104)

This is with the DB Killer installed on both options.

I am going to take my AR can to track and the standard and see what both read when I can.

I appreciate this info. I have the Akro shorty with stock headers as well and thought maybe it's doable. my local track restriction is well below that (95db)so I'll have to swap cans when I go next spring. got a cheap Amazon can that is whisper quiet.
