My clutch has started to slip
on: September 27, 2020, 08:04:18 PM
Hi all.
I have a 2018 s1000r which I have owned from new.
Done 6900 miles
I have never abused the clutch or done track days.
I have been in touch with BMW from the start saying clutch feels strange/false nutural etc.
They told me that they are all similar and it's the slipper clutch.
So ive lived with it as I love the bike.
But today the clutch has started to slip under hard acceleration?
Clutch lever cable adjustment fine.
Any help would be appreciated.

Go to a different dealer.  Your clutch should not have any problems.
Just keep your head held high
Kiss your fist and touch the sky

Id go to the same dealer and say

well turns out you were wrong. The issues Ive repeatedly told you of- and been fobbed off with, have now lead to slipping under acceleration. Please fix. Thanks.

Not sure if this helps but while living in miami and abusing the 2013 s100rr i did go thru a clutch for the first time in many years while using Motul oil. Not sure if it had anything to do but not a fan of that oil. I also change to a "Factory Pro Spring" that goes behind the clutch basket and my bike was a whole different animal for shifting and after putting a few hundred miles it was a perfect feeling while shifting.
