Personally, I would bet against your dealer and say that the next S1000R generation won't be released until 2022, considering it hasn't even been officially announced yet.

I've had 3 brand new bikes off the showroom/dealership in my entire life..... and by FAR this one is taking WAAAY too long to get through the break in period...  the damn -19 and no commuting to work really cramps this up!
