Upgrading to a newer version
on: September 21, 2020, 04:09:25 PM
I am changing my 2016 Sport for a 2019 Sport.  I have a couple of questions...

On my current bike, to access the Dynamic Pro riding mode you have to plug in a small red dongle into a socket under the seat.  Is it the same for the new model?  I need to know whether or not to keep the red dongle from my current bike in case it is missing from the new one.

My current bike has the BMW alarm fitted.  I can easily remove the alarm unit from this bike.  Do 2019 bikes come with the loom already prepared, or is a custom loom part of the alarm package?  My current bike has a loom extension and connector that plugs into the alarm unit.

Thanks in advance!

Not sure about the alarm, but given there will be changes to the electronics between the 2016 to 2017 models I would hazard a guess that the alarm will not be transferable, at least not easily anyway.

No need to remove the red plug either, your new bike will come with one.
