I also have the forged wheels with 190ís on, if I go for a 200 will it affect the handling or the ABS, TC etc. Looking to put some S22ís on it as it has S21ís at the moment and they are great in the dry.  I am not a fast rider but have done a track day and plan to do more. Cheers. Steve.

No, it wonít affect the ABS or TC. It will change the handling a little bit, but probably not enough to really bother you.

This video is aimed at 600 riders thinking about 190s, but all that he says pertains to your question as well:

My experience so far that Iíve noticed with the 200 rear, it requires a little bit more effort when tipping in a corner.  Supposedly more contact patch compared to the 190 as well from what Iíve read ,but I havenít noticed any difference in lean angle.  I do max the left side out and have about 1/16thĒ on the right.  Right turn lean is not my strong side but Iím working on it. :008:

:460:  Thanks for posting. Very informative. Didn't know / consider that the bike might be canted forward some due to a taller tire. Also the possibility of tire being more U shaped resulting in faster or more aggressive tip in is another thing hadn't considered.

I currently have Dunlop Q3+ (190s) on and they have good traction and am in general happy. They do have a bit quicker tip in than I may prefer so will probably go with something else next time - maybe the metzeler m9 rr since I liked the way the m7 rr tire had more of a roll feel rather than a drop feel when leaning in for a turn (albeit on a different bike D675r)

My opinion when it comes to wheels, you can play with brand and compounds, but not tire size.  If BMW felt a 200 was best for the bike, they would have spec'd it...they just don't slap on a set of tires and wheels as an afterthought.   For the record my 17 R came with Bridgestone S20's, at 3K miles I swapped out for S22's.  Huge improvement in handling and wear.

I agree with your point and Iím just experimenting with the 200 rear. I have logged about 3500 miles so far with zero problems. The Diablo 3ís also did there job well both on the street and track.
