ULEZ emission charges
on: July 13, 2020, 05:58:41 PM
I was just checking on the Government website whether my 2017 S1000R Sport needed to pay ULEZ when travelling into Central London, astonishingly it came out it is payable! How can it be at the same time my 3.0 Litre Diesel car is exempt? Can any London owners verify please?

Sounds like something must be wrong. I just checked both the wife’s and my own cars (2016 and 2017 3.0 diesels), my current 2019 1250GS and my previous 2015 S1000R. No ULEZ or LEZ charges payable.

Considering the website says you only need to meet Euro 3 to be exempt and your bike is Euro 4, I'd do what they say on the website:
Minimum emission standards
All vehicles need to meet Euro 3 emissions standards for NOx.

The ULEZ is enforced based on the declared emissions of the vehicle rather than the age - but generally speaking Euro 3 engines as those registered with the DVLA after July 2007.

Check your vehicle to see if it meets the standards. If the checker says your vehicle is subject to ULEZ but you think it does meet the standards, follow the steps on the results page to send us proof.
