Aftermarket levers
on: July 01, 2020, 08:37:14 AM
Hi all,

A topic that has probably been discussed many times, but I'm considering replacing the standard OEM levers on my new S1000R to provide a bit more flexibility on reach (especially the clutch lever).

I am considering the Gilles FXL levers - anyone had any experience of these good or bad?

Any others to consider and complexity in installing?

Cheers  :002:

From what I have been able to ascertain, the official BMW HP stuff appears to be made by Gilles?
I know that the logo on my HP rearsets looks very much like the double G logo of Gilles (I haven't actually checked my HP levers though?)

So yeah I'd say that you would have no issues with their levers.

I have previously ran the Evotech levers on my previous S1000R and they are a fantastic lever. Real good quality, excellent fit and a nice feel in the hand too. Look 100 times better than the chavvy looking ASV offerings as well.

I am using the Gilles levers and highly rate them.
The quality and fit is great, and the reach improvements are definitely worth it.
(the stock clutch lever is horrible...)
I got nothing.....

Fitted the Gilles levers recently, huge improvement over stock ergonomically and looks, not the cheapest but highly recommended.

Easy to fit with no issues with the QS or cruise micro switches

Thanks for all the guidance - think I will treat myself to the Gilles levers then! :002:
