First oil change
« on: May 18, 2020, 03:05:20 AM »
I have a question about the first oil change.  Looked around & searched this forum for how to do it.  I under stand the filter removal and install. I understand the bottom drain plug with magnet T50 28Nm.  My question, is there also a drain plug on the front of the engine just above to O2sensor near the headers? Its a hex head maybe 5mm i think.  What is this plug for?

Pictures are way better than words!

But, oil change is just the drain plug and filter.

So when u refill with 3.5Liters, Oil level is right in the middle of your site glass correct?

Here is a pic of the other plug i was talking about.  What is it and whats its purpose?

Re the 'other' plug, don't know, so I would ignore it.
3.5 litres is correct but may need tweeking. Follow the instructions in the manual to check the oil level, you may find you need to add(or sometimes remove) after the motor has warmed up, etc.

I stand corrected, It is a second motor oil drain plug. Never even noticed it before. I will have to investigate on the next oil change. Go down to the engine housing diagram it is #8.

DING DING DING we have a winner.  Would recommend adding that detail to oil change sticky!  I had about 8 ounces come out, its not much but when its the first service ALL the oil should be drained. It even has a crush washer on it but no magnet.  I was surprised how exact the oil level was right in the middle of the site glass after the 3.7L fill up.
Now we cleared that up, whats that torque on drain plug #2?  Haha

Pretty interesting. Must be a little captured puddle. I bet not many folks know that one. Good catch.
