Earplugs.

Just kidding.  I've never heard of any sort of rattle or vibration in key cylinders before.  that's an unusual one.

It's more likely to be the tank cover vibrating.
Next time you hear it, put a little pressure on the front of the cover in the centre and it should stop.

It is easily cured by using some foam strip around the edges of the cover that come on to contact with the tank. I also shaved off the little 'nib' at the back of the cover as this was touching the tank.

Most likely the tank lid.   I would rest your palm toward back on the sides while riding to confirm it.   I found some felt with adhesive backing to cure that mess.  Drove me nuts at low speed.

Finally, someone else who knows what i'm talking about! It's not the tank cover, I fixed that one. It's the key cylinder. I asked the dealer about it, and they basically blew me off. They said I need heavier bar end weights.

5k rpm is the worst! I tried to grease the key, but it didn't help.

Here you go for you OCD freaks lol

i found the rattle !!! I just removed the top triple tree clamp the ignition lock has security bolts so this was my only option, was a easy DIY took me about 30 mins. I made a before and after video with my phone but it didn't record sound ! Here is the pic of the steering lock ,I staked around the pin ,sloppy job but i didn't want to clamp it and i was by myself

here is a pic of the lock ,the 2 lower pins in the pic are roll pins that hold the steel housing around the locking pin this also was loose and rattled , tapped those in also and flared the ends so it wouldn't back out. Test ride was perfect no rattle ...I'm happy again

So yours was the steering lock? I haven't even used it before. I need to investigate this.

Exactly, I had the same problem @ 5K rpm, was driving me crazy, but I found out it was my fault.  I purchased an Ilmberger carbon fiber tank cover and forgot to transfer the rubber grommet from the old cover to the new cover - problem solved.
