Maybe a difference on US bikes? My 2019 does not have this DIN socket, either side. I have 3 of these (2 left side, above and below horn and 1 right side)

Apparently it fits straight in on a connector under the LH side panel, certainly on the 2017 onwards bikes at least, I have the same set up, fitted by BMW from new so alas, I can tell you for sure where it connects but there is an explanation and photos im sure on another thread on this topic.

Have a search...

Thats what I have as well.  Id love to see how Podders bike was rigged up.  I thought his was wired up with a OEM connector with the 3 yellow wires that I got from Nippy Normans but i still couldnt get the USB to power up. Like this>

With 12 weeks off I have no excuses left...and I forgot!

Anyway, pics attatched I hope.

Wire goes from USB down to left hand panel and into this connection, just above the horn, which appears to come off the loom. Should(!) be straightforward with the BMW USB...

Looking at the wiring from the USB to the socket as pictured, it would appear this connection(or similar) was used, I can see heat shrink tubing has been applied the last couple of
inches down from the connection...

Podders,   Thank you very much for the pics!  Unfortunately, I have the same connector with the 3 yellow wires but must of rigged it up wrong.   :034: Im going to give it another try after I wrap up my current project.

I went this route great price and features, waterproof and I wanted a power switch and wired direct to battery so I can have the option to charge with the bike off and I'm handy with solder, heat shrink and ring terminals - nothing I had to buy. A nice $12 solution. I just fits in there. It can be moved back a tad by removing the flange on those 2 edges, I'm fine as is.
