Failing panel replacement
« on: February 12, 2020, 04:01:17 PM »
I need to change a fairing panel, itís the side panel with the bmw roundel in it.
Price on line is about £140
Questions
1, is that for the whole thing as Iíve just scratched the storm black bit.
2, is it easy to take apart?
3. I k is it comes painted but does it have the red lettering on it?

Thanks

If you can, I would run down to the dealer and make certain thatís the correct part for your bike.  They may cut you a discount if you buy from them as my dealer does (10%). They own it if they screw up your order.

I would check as well, 140gbp seems awefully cheap for a painted OEM BMW panel!!!!

There are painted and non painted version available, the painted are more. Mine is frozen blue and BMW stopped making the painted version, last week I need to order the one that goes on top of the one you are looking and I can't get them anymore.fyi

There are a couple on eBay but damaged.
Mine is only lightly scratched so I think I will get it down to the local paint shop, and see if they can do a smart repair

Youíre right Clik, roundels are circular symbols so Oly is talking about the BMW badge.

I think you may want to check! The panel(Plaque Holder) with the BMW roundel on it is not painted, it is just that horrible cheap black plastic. There is a painted panel that mounts on the 'Plaque Holder', and looking at the parts fiche I am going to guess the the 140 price is only for the panel painted with primer, and if you want then full painted panel it is going ot be upward of 250gbp.

I have purchased the panel, painted storm black and it is £137
The sticker is £42
They are applying the sticker for me at the dealer as if I tried this it wouldnít be straight.
Not sure where you got £250 plus from ?
