New bike purchase questuon
« on: February 02, 2020, 06:23:02 AM »
Just purchased a 2019 s1kr with 525 miles on the clock.

Question is will they service it before delivery or will I have to ride it straight back to the dealer for a
Running in service. Im sure Ive read somewhere they service them if they are near the threshold of an inspection.

Thanks

It will have its 600 mile service before you pick it up with all the associated restrictions removed too.

I agreed a price yesterday and paid a deposit, they are ringing tomorrow to arrange full payment etc. I got some money knocked of so hoping they dont add some of it back in with a service .

The running-in period is 500 to 1200km (300 to 750 miles) according to the owners handbook. So, you should absolutely expect the bike to be delivered to you with the running-in service and any other required work completed so that you dont have to go back to the dealer for a while. Im sure your dealer intends to do this, since your new bike is right in the middle of the required mileage. As Admin has said, a quick call will clear up any doubts.

Cooper Sunderland

Who did you buy from at Cooper Sunderland?

I have bought a few bikes off them and you really have nothing to worry a out as far as their customer service etc .. goes. They have been nothing but excellent with me in the past.

I can pretty much guarantee that the bike will be given its 1st service too. My first S1000R from them was bought with 500 miles on the clock and without me needing to ask the service was carried out prior to collection.

I think they are actually obliged(or should be anyway) to sell it with the service up to date.

i bought mine last year from Coopers at Sunderland. i dealt with Steve who was a great salesman and i will definatly be using them again in future. my S1000R also only hd 340 miles on clock and it was given the 600 mile service before i picked it up.. No running in was required.
Any problems ask for Steve if youre not happy and he'll sort you out.

Spoke to them this morning, and yes if it hasnt had the running in service they will do it.
It is due in either today or tomorrow and they said I will have it before the end of the
Month.
Not too worried as the weather is crap in Cumbria in February
