Welcome in mate. Some great roads you have around your way, do love Derbyshire as a county.

About 40 miles away in Cheshire. Often around Ashbourne way in the summer months.  :0461: Some great roads on your doorstep just to many 50 limits  :002:

Thanks gents for the warm welcome. We've some ace roads out this way, so much so I couldn't help but go and get a few under my belt this evening.
I'm like a kid at Xmas.. this bike is not only mental.. it handles like it's on rails. S1000R (the world's angriest 125!)

Welcome. I am originally from Derbyshire but now live down south, remember going to Matlock on a Sunday on my old H2, great roads.

Another ex-GS rider here having had both the F800 and liquid cooled 1200. The S1000R feels about a quarter of the weight and half the size of the 1200 GS to me - which has both good and bad aspects to it depending on the journey. I had a few concerns about the quality of the GS which ultimately led me to changing for the S1000R - which feels much better put together to me.

Enjoy the bike - great choice.
