New Product called Over Suspension for 2014-19 SKRs
on: December 15, 2019, 04:48:13 AM
Hi guys. There is a new product on the market called Oversuspension that Bellissimoto is the importer for and we are a dealer of Bellissimoto on this product as well as other European brands that they are the US importer for. It retails for $429.95
plus shipping. We are selling it for $365 shipped. Although Bellissimoto doesnt show that the Oversuspension fits the SKRs, I spoke to Randy and contacted Supreme Technology I explained to both of them that it would fit 2014-19 SKRs because they use the same swing arm and components as the 2012-19 BMW S1000RRs. The part numbers for both models and years I listed are all the same. While I havent tested it on a BMW I tested it on a friends Ducati V4s who bought one from me. You can definitely feel the difference in how the bike handles. Its a smoother ride, bumps are absorbed that are missed by the suspension and tire. And gave an overall better feel with more confidence. Supreme Technology makes a version for the track and street. But the street version is more than enough for the everyday rider and for the rider that tracks his/her bike sometimes. Below is a write up by Supreme Technology to give everyone a better understanding of what the oversuspension does.

Introducing Supreme Technology, an Italian company with over 35 years of experience in the design, development and processing of components for the motor sports, motorcycles and cars as well as in the aerospace sector.

They would like us to present to you a new product that is having great success in the world of racing, and in street bikes, and has been considered by the commentators of Skysport the most revolutionary device of the last 10 years.

This new patented device is called "Oversuspension" Over Suspension is a special resonator capable of removing the resonances of the rear swingarm group and giving the vehicle more stability, traction, braking and comfort, as well as facilitating the dynamic operation of the suspension, and greatly improving driving safety in every condition, for example reducing the possibility of highside on the track by up to 90%.

Our resonator is used in Moto3, Moto2, World Superbike, Supersport 600, FlatTrack, American championships and many European championships, but beware it's not a normal MassDamper.

Our device was developed in collaboration with Barni Ducati Team and the riders Michele Pirro and Michael Rinaldi who both use it in the race. It has been used and tested very successfully on the street with normal bikes, and on the racetrack, giving many advantages, though first of all is safety. The device has just been recognized by the Italian Motorcycle Federation as an important element of safety and has consented to its use in competitions in all national championships.

More info on the device:

During the use of the vehicle (whatever it is), the suspensions are constantly stressed by the unevenness of the ground and by the
change of the trajectory of the tire. Normally it is thought that these stresses are completely managed by the suspension, in truth
this happens only partially because the suspension calibration is static and does not change over time while the stresses vary over
time and in their intensity.

Oversuspension takes care of managing both the stresses that the suspension receives and the elastic rebound of the tire, which,
when out of phase with respect to the trajectory of the suspension, generates anomalous forces that affect the suspension.
Furthermore, the device also deals with attenuating the oscillatory frequencies generated by the ABS intervention and the Traction
Control.

Soon some short testimonials will be uploaded on our channel on youtube.
In addition, a complete report on Africa Twin will also be released.

Attached you can see a screenshot of a data acquisition in which you can see the frequency trend of the rear suspension, in the red curve (without resonator), while the yellow curve (with resonator), the upper graph is the wheel skating, lower graph is the suspension. As you can see the yellow one with resonator is clearly lower, the data relate to an entry into a curve at high speed with a sport bike.

During the use of any vehicle, the suspensions are constantly stressed by the unevenness of the ground and by the change of the trajectory of the tire. Normally it is thought that these stresses are completely managed by the suspension, in truth this happens only partially because the suspension calibration is static and does not change over time while the stresses vary over time and in their intensity.

Also attached here a photo of the first Tenerč 700 in Europe to have covered 10,000 km in mixed mode, on this occasion the Yamaha head R&D engineer Mr. Shiraishy visited the dealership that is testing the bike and have mounted our device and after he has seen the device and explained to him its functions, he expressed technical praises for our "device".  In the 10,000 kilometers traveled, numerous tests were done by removing and putting the device and all the testers expressed an unanimous opinion on advantages obtained.

The Oversuspension project for street bikes consists of a revolutionary adjustable gravitational resonator that allows to mediate the frequencies generated by the suspension unit when the shock absorber is not effective, improving driving precision, traction, braking and generally the stability of the vehicle , contributing to vehicle safety both on the road and on the track.

In particular, our device provides to regularize or cancel the resonant frequencies of the oscillating arm when this passes from a state of unsprung mass to suspended mass, thus drastically reducing the rebounds of the pneumatic group on the asphalt.

The device also operates during the intervention of the ABS system, greatly improving braking, and during the intervention of the traction control systems for which it is of absolute benefit, then improves the electronically controlled suspension, where mitigating the occasional resonances makes the auto-calibration of the suspension more precise.

In case of wet conditions, it is able to reduce the phenomenon of aquaplaning, in the presence of uneven ground to reduce the structural stress of the vehicle.

Calibration: Performing the calibration is very simple:

1. Turn the red ring towards the (sign +) until it reaches the stroke end, in this way the spring that contrasts the mass will have the minimum calculated preload and the mass will resonate to agreater amplitude and a lower frequency.

2. Use the vehicle and try to pay attention to the sensation that you feel regarding the swinging of the rear swingarm in roughterrain, entry into corners, sharp braking and travel of the bent curve.

3. Turning the red knob towards the (sign -) you will notice that the sensations that were perceived before will vary and will be more or less intense. Then rotate to the position where you will notice less oscillation of the rear and you will have a more direct feeling with the suspension.
