I get around 200 miles from a tank of fuel, fuel consumption on the on board computer averages around 50mpg.  Certainly a lot better than my ZX10R which was around 120 miles to a tank

My 2015 S1000R got about 200 miles per tank with highway driving. 180 with city mix. My 2017 gets about 180 highway driving and 160 mix. I live in north of Seattle. I mix in non ethanol gas about one out of three tanks. I travel up and down the coast. California gas is the worst in the area. Living in San Francisco you are subject to "city" driving in all the Bay Area. Take your bike north and speed a weekend in the rural north see how it goes. Slip into Oregon or Nevada and get gas there. See how it goes. I do suggest you head To Weaverville and enjoy a good ride up 101 and see how the mileage works out.

Getting about 42MPG on a long haul and mid 30's in the twisties.

Best is 170 out of a tank before the panic set in.
