Cheers mad ad.

In my own mind, based on a bit of poking around that I've done today, this is coming down to a toss up between Custom Fit Guards and Ultimate Ears.

Anyone else out there using either of these options that can give me some feedback please?
Have a pair of custom fit guards.
Had the ear impressions done in my local area and sent them to cfg.
The fit is great but my mistake was getting the ones with the filter.
After using the foam ones for so long using these seems way to noisy. No doubt they are doing what they are supposed to but  have gone back to using the foam ones.
If I had my time over again I would get the cfg without the filter fitted.

Thanks for your feedback MarketSquareHero. I hadnt really thought about the filter version being too loud when youre used to traditional foamies. Im glad to hear the fit was good.

Just to give a little follow up on this, I eventually went for a pair of -29db filtered plugs from the Ultimate Ears stand at the NEC. They arrived at the weekend and seem to fit well. I haven't had chance to try them out properly yet, so will report back when I do. In the meantime, here they are...

I managed to get 100 miles under my belt with the Ultimate Ears plugs today (50 miles on my old R and 50 miles on my new GS). The plugs fit well and are a doddle to insert with judicious use of the lubricant supplied with the kit. They don't block as much sound as the E-A-Rsoft FX plugs, which is what I wanted to improve situational awareness. They do a good job of blocking wind noise in particular so that you can hear relatively more of everything else. I took a phone call whilst on the GS and had no problem with audibility.

Early days, but so far I'm pleased with them  :028:

Thats good to hear Simon! No pun intended! I had some new UE buds arrive yesterday, but not picked them up from depot.
