I'm curious about your experience with Bahnstormer. I heard on a youtube channel somewhere that they are owned by bmw rather than privately . Not heard of that being in the US as I am

My R idles perfectly, and runs smoothly at low rpm around town.
I did once make the mistake of trying to fit an RR exhaust - this made it very unhappy and it was running poorly.
So if all is stock, then you shouldn't have any issues.

Regarding the QS - I also struggled to get to grips with mine, but with time/mileage/experience I have learnt to "make it work" and I rarely have issues using it these days.

Hope you get it sorted; And let us know what (if anything) was wrong.
I got nothing.....

So the dealer just had a look at it. Theyre saying everything is as it should be - chain tension etc all within spec so theres nothing apparently wrong with the bike. They test rode it, said it was fine. The test rider said he didnt bother plugging it in and doing a full diagnostic but then the service department when handing the keys back told me they HAD and no faults showed up..so dont know what to believe..I did try out their demo bike and it was doing the exact same thing, so I think for now I guess Ill just have to get used to it. When I do the full 18000mile service theyll change the spark plugs and do the valve clearance etc so lets see if it makes a difference then? Its not enough of an issue to make a big fuss about it with the dealer, so for the moment just have to accept that they all do this at low revs..to be fair its nothing I cant live with. It is bloody annoying though!!

If it's really bothering you, I believe an ECU flash and custom tune helps sort this.

Was the "test" bike you rode the current generation ('17+) or before? If before I'd test a current gen out of curiousity to get total peace mind and know that you aren't paranoid :)

Only thing is, I don't know any near London that are good/recommended. Plus I'm hesitant because it'll void the 2 year warranty I still have on this thing from BMW..

The test bike was brand new demo bike with 1000 miles on the clock. I definitely didn't believe the service people but having spoken to a bunch of others as well as people on this forum I think I was probably overthinking it..I've spent about 4 hours riding today, absolutely LOVING this bike at high speeds!! Just need to watch out for the accidental wheelies/learn how to wheelie properly  :008:

How though? They won't be able to tell the work has been done?

How about if you can try and get another S1000r rider to ride yours?
