Easiest way to swap the halogen headlights to LED?
« on: January 10, 2019, 04:13:57 AM »
Hi!

I'm sorry for being a complete noob, but I would really appreciate any help. I tried searching the forum and came across Peeti's method of changing the LEDs with canbus, but that seems to be quite complicated for a newbie like me.

So my question is what is the easiest way to change the ugly halogen headlights and which LED bulbs would you recommend?

Thank you very much you lovely people, you!

I used stanksbeamen's video for instructions.

And I went with Sixty61 HID kit 35 watt. You will need one H7 single kit and one 9005 single kit. They are small enough ultra-compact ballast to fit both behind the high beam housing. They won't show a BMW kit just email them that you need one H7 single kit and one 9005 single kit. You will also need a matching white set of 194 leds for the driving lights.

The mechanic at my local dealer said my HID bulbs will fail the UK MOT due tot he beam pattern, and mentioned  some bulbs from Halfords (car and bike parts supplier over here) that are very close to the white of a HID and much brighter than standard halogens but just drop straight in - must be led i guess.

Anyone know what they are called?
