Just wondering of anyone has experienced the same issue, i recently took my bike to the garage to get my service light turned off, it was fine for about 2 weeks with the light off everything on the dash was back to normal. However i went to go into work about 2 weeks from turning it off and it had come back on with the orange service light and the "SERVICE" indicator.

Any ideas?

Thanks

BMW has 2 service 'types' - mileage based and time based(annual). My first thought would be that the 'garage' only reset one of those reminders.

Could it be MOT reminder.  Don't know much about the bike as I have only just got it but I have been driving BMW cars for 15 years and they have several service items that are monitored including MOT, brake fluid, brake pads, spark plugs as well as the usual oil change.  On the cars you can go into a service menu to find out what is causing the service reminder, don't know if the bike has the same function.

Yeh I will look into it I know the guy well at the garage and should be able to go through it with him. Might just need another reset for a different reason.

Thanks for help  :152:

As it is showing October 2019 as the service date, could it be that the date is set wrong?  This is from the owners handbook

If the service-due indicator appears more than a month before the service date, the date saved in the instrument cluster must be adjusted. This situation can occur if the battery was disconnected or a prolonged period of time.
If you want to have the date set consult a specialist workshop, preferably an authorised BMW Motorrad dealer.

This is the likely answer.
I have done an oil change over December and reset mine with the MotoScan app - it gives you both options: you can specify the mileage reminder distance as per your needs or a date. I suspect since you get a date reminder on the cluster they forgot to add a year to the time-based reminder.
I got nothing.....
