I've used about 4 different types of chain cleaner until I tried kerosene. I'm never using anything but kerosene again! Its cheap, like 10x cheaper, than other chain cleaners. and it works wayyyy better than anything else. Put it in a chemical resistant spray bottle  and use like normal. Great to clean wheels with too.

In fact, kerosene is what's recommended by chain manufactures such as DID.

Motul spray on chain cleaner works way better than kerosene, IMO.

Haven't tried the Motul. I stopped trying chain cleaners after using kerosene. 1 gallon of kerosene is $12USD, 10OZ of Motul chain cleaner is about $13USD. Get 12x more kerosene for about the same price, and IMO works really well. Its a winner for me.

Plus, if you don't like it you can use it to keep warm. lol

I managed to snag this great cleaning product while the company was still in business. No mess in the garage and all the dirty fluids get collected. It works great!

Been using Costco Oil Eater now which is as cheap as kerosene at $12/gallon. $10 if you buy 4.

Works great as well and is water based and approved for California which has strictest environmental lawss.

That run off collector is great -  what a great way of keeping it all clean and also separating the waste for disposal - very neat

I just use a piece of cardboard between the chain and tire, and underneath the chain. But that looks nifty.

Its a very unique product and am surprised no one else has purchased the patent and remade it.

Here is what Oil Eater looks like. Biodegradable and as effective as kerosene!
