How to launch control on s1000r ?
« on: October 29, 2018, 01:39:26 PM »
So I was trying figure launch control on s1000r. I put on dynamic mode, hold down starter button, white light comes up. Then i go 1st gear rev it.
Now the revmeter dont stop on 9k it goes all the way to top.
So i released cluch carefully but fast, it kind of front wheel went up and it stalled.

Then I did again at 6k released clutch quick it stalled.

What Am I doing wrong, or its faulty thing. New bike 4k km 2017.

Can someone give me step by step.

Thanks

That thread is for 2015 bikes and they do not have launch control.

Sounds like you're doing it properly, from what the manual says....  Just make sure you hold down the starter button until it says L-Con, I guess?

I guess one thing to ask... did you get the sport package, and do you have the Dynamic Pro "plug" installed?

What year was this added? My dealer says track use (even track days) voids warranty, but admits in hushed tones "how would we know unless you tell us?". However, it seems BMW has been building it for track use - lap timer, quickshifter, Dynamic Pro and now this! WTF.

Your dealer is full of sh*t.

Zero mention of track or race use.

Meanwhile, section 7 of my 2017 owner's manual is called "on the trace track" and covers the laptimer, race info, racing starts (launch control), pit lane speed limiter, removing mirrors/plate carrier/indicators.
