Rear brake pad change - Pin won't budge!
« on: October 13, 2018, 01:20:36 PM »
I'm just on changing the front and rear pads on the bike now, front are done and were as simple as can be. But the rear? Can I hell get the pin to move!

Retaining clip has been moved and I have tried all sorts to get it out but it just won't go.

Anyone else encountered this before? And what did you do to finally remove it?

I had reason to remove the rear pads and similar to you was very diffcult to remove the pin. I sourced a decent snap on punch which was a similar diameter to the hole and hammer. It took a few decent taps but did move .

I finally got it out. I think one as showing it a little too much sympathy at first, so have it a half decent tap and it free'd up.

10k miles and the pads front and rear were absolutely shot. I'd say one more decent ride out and i would have been through to the backing plate on the fronts.
