Thank you, this was my 3rd s1000r, I have also owned a couple of s1000rr,s and tried an r nine t but that one wasn't for me, things will get better, but I advise all fellow bikers to read the small print on your insurance, there's an excess on everything.  I Also do a lot of bike painting but pins and wires in right had put paid to that for at least 8 weeks.

So quick update and thanks for the supportive comments. the bike was inspected yesterday by insurance and given a catagory B, which means it has structural damage and can not be put back on the road,so has to scrapped, it will sell in coparts auction for parts only,  just waiting for an offer from my insurance as they have told me there will be depreciation on the bike, even though it was one day old and done 54 miles, had a quick look on the internet but seems 68 plate ones are hard to find. will keep you posted. all with solicitors now, might be no win no fee , but when they do win they take 25% of your claim for the priviledge, thats everything that is considered uninsured loss, clothing, injuries, loss of earnings, travel expenses, policy excess etc etc.

Sorry such a crappy thing happened to you. Re insurance, I'm just coming to the end of a legal case. I was insured with BMW insurance when it happened and the legal cover limited the amount I lost to the lawyers to 500. Still not sure it was worth it, as BMW's partner law firm were crap from start to finish, will always wonder if I'd have got more with a proper firm, who took 25%. I'll definitely be taking that option if I ever have to again.
