Did you tap into the parking/running lights to wire your high beam angel eye?

It is actually so easy, you don't even need to tap/cut wires. The wires are thin enough to just insert into the connector and close it.

Just did it yesterday and cost only $2.5 for the halo eyes.

Can you PM me step by step on how you did it and what parts to buy and where to buy them?

Will just post it here.

  • Buy the 70mm Angel LEDs from ebay. They can be had for around $5-7/pair
  • Remove the front windscreen, outer headlight fairing by first removing the side panels, and then the 3 mounting screws.
  • Remove the parking light male connector from the high beam side that is press fit into the side of the inner fairing. There is a small tab in the fairing mount that you need to press using a small flathead driver to release the connector.
  • Strip the wire leads from the angle eye to expose the metal wire. You just need to strip around an inch for the wire to fit in the female connector
  • Wind the metal wire so that they don't split when inserting in the factory female connector
  • Insert the wires with correct polarity into the female connector. You can test the polarity by turning on the ignition
  • Bend the metal wires over the female connector and insert the male connector over them
  • Assemble everything back as shown above
  • I didn't feel the need to glue the halo ring as it sits snug between the high beam projector and outer fairing

Just did this mod it was pretty easy. Only thing I did different then those above was to grind off the 3 tabs on the inside of the clear cover with a dremel tool and added clear silicon to the back side of the clear cover to waterproof it. Brown wire is + white wire is - so color to color white to white. To get to the high beam driving light bracket/connector under the front housing just push it inwards towards the bike.

I also fitted a white version rather than risk getting pulled by the UK police. Its a pretty easy fit but you do need to trim the light surround slightly to enable the top of the LED ring to sit well in the headlight housing.

Great little mod!  Just finished and the white  Halo from Ebay matches perfectly with my H.I.D. low beam.  That little sucker throws some good light as well.  Thanks guys!
