Petition BMW to bring back "normal" DDC mode
« on: July 18, 2018, 03:48:08 AM »
BMW ditched the middle (most useful) DDC mode normal at some point.  For this reason I did not buy a 2017 S1R nor will I really be able to buy any future S1R should I want the latest one.

When I test drove the 2017 (twice) it was obvious soft and hard were not sufficient for my daily riding.

I think we should petition BMW to bring "normal" mode back since it is the most obvious and best suspension mode on the bike.
Troll alert:  please do not reply with "hard" or "soft" mode on the 2017 is the same as "normal" on the older models.  Thats absolutely not true.

Non Troll Alert, there is no hard or soft mode on the 2017+ DDC, only Road and Dynamic ;)

Also, BMW will never see this thread, and it's unlikely they would care if they did.

Thats not even remotely true I have test driven 2017 S1000R on multiple occasions, it does have"hard" and "soft" suspension modes but no "normal" mode, you are talking about ride modes.  For those it also has rain and dynamic pro.

And I own the bike in question, feel free to go find an owner's manual for a 2017 DDC bike, you'll see the following:

Feel free to continue telling me all of the great information you gained on your many test rides, though.

I'll look forward to seeing that because like "zombie" I am also a 17 plate owner and what he says is correct on my bike as well  :028:

I ride my own 2017 S100R on a daily basis and to be honest, you are talking b*llocks.

I can assume you did not ride a previous model S1000r where it had soft, road and hard mode. Therefore, to you, his comment appears testicular.

I own and have ridden my 2016 for approx 8000km. A lot of highway and city riding. I do use the soft mode when tarmac conditions are subpar.
It is significantly softer than road mode.

Sure, if the OP didn't specifically mention a 2017 bike, which he did...
