Service notification reset

I just did my annual service myself. My question is am I voiding any kind of warranty by not resetting my service indicator that comes on every time I start the bike? Dealership wants $60. To reset it. It doesn't really bother me and I have receipts for my oil and filter.

No, you are not voiding your warranty doing your own oil changes, providing you used oil/filter that meet the requirements laid out in the owners manual. Leaving the service light on from needing an oil change wouldn't technically void warranty, but it may disguise an ACTUAL problem with the bike, so you're better off resetting it, IMO.
You can reset the service minder using either a GS911 (or similar) or the cheaper method, a bluetooth OBD-II adapter and using the MotoScan app.
If you have a bike prior to 2017, you will need a converter from OBD-II to BMW (similar to this:
https://www.amazon.ca/OBD-OBD2-Connector-Diagnostic-Adapter/dp/B0054FJEDK
)

Anybody tried and had success with the MotoScan app?

Yes, there were a few people on here that have been using it. Do a search; there are a couple of threads out there talking about it.

Battery disconnect, sorry no. My 2015 if you did not reset the service, the dash display was different after the service warning went away. I thought something was wrong until I reset the service warning. It is a bit of a trouble maker.
