Questions for people running full exhaust
« on: April 15, 2018, 12:02:52 PM »
For those who run a full exhaust, have y'all experienced any low end shuddering? Cruising around town is the most jerky thing since putting on the full exhaust. Also cold start idle is extremely bouncy till the temp gets to about 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Thinking an exhaust baffle might help but I don't want to spend the money on it for it not to do anything...

Full exhaust systems typically require fueling modifications.  Some say it's not necessary and that may be the case with certain systems but for most you'll only get the best results by modifying fuel delivery.
Why is common sense so uncommon?

The 'onboard' brain is capable of making adjustments for fuel grades, ambient temps and altitude etc but swapping out the complete system is a step too far. It will have a stab at it but it will never be "right" (the wisdom of the tuner who did my Ducati, not my words). You've shelled out a fortune for a new system, you need to find a bit more to finish the job. I promise you if you get it done properly you will not be disappointed.

I forgot to mention I'm running a fuel tuner (bazzaz ). It's been dyno tuned as well as has a auto tuner on it to suggest changes.

Does yours also pop out the exhaust on decel? I get one pop but that's it. That's with the pair valve blocked off

I'm running the full Yoshimura system with PCV and pair blocked off.  I get the popping on decel but don't mind it...actually like it.

The fueling with a precanned Akro map (with quiet core insert installed) is perfect.  No hesitation anywhere in the rev range and throttle transitions are flawless.  The bike rips with this setup and couldn't be happier with the engine's performance.  Did I mention it rips?!?!

Cheers

Does your exhaust have a baffle?
