Global Akra supply/demand issue was underlying reason for no stock, but their website was out of sync with inventory levels, and their delivery schedule did not factor Acra being slow to supply.  So, difficult to assume this scenario is fixed unless you work for them.  :001:

Hi Guys
I've been wanting to change that massive end can on my bike since picking it up from the showroom last April.   However, with a ton of expense on the house I cannot stretch to a Akra end can.   So now that bike season is well underway.  I been surfing the eBay pages for an alternative end can.  My budget is about 100 but less would be preferred  :152: So, I've come across theses from China.   here's the link.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2017-2018-S1000RR-for-BMW-Motorcycle-Exhaust-Pipe-Mid-Slip-On-51-mm-Tail-Escape/273525049245?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160727114228%26meid%3D9c7757a51092488a9bf5c55e3b9bd511%26pid%3D100290%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D273525049245%26itm%3D273525049245&_trksid=p2060778.c100290.m3507#

Ive been in touch with this company and asked if this also fits a s1000r.   they've come and confirmed yes and sent me a pic of a s1000r asking me is this the model.  so great stuff I have corrospondences to back me up if its not what the seller has confirmed.

My question to you guys is.  Has any one in the forum bought one of these and if so.   what is your thoughts?

That's a fascinating find if the photos are genuine. I bet Austin racing would be pissed because it looks like someone is selling their gear from factory back door?

Highly doubt these are legit AR exhausts, but they are tempting nonetheless.

Ive said it before and Ill say it again: buy Chinese knock-offs and youre putting the OEM (who has paid for all the development costs, quality control etc) and all the people whose wages they pay in jeopardy. When the Chinese rip off your employer, expect zero sympathy as you collect your dole payments.

Also, dont expect any emails from a Chinese supplier to carry any weight in a dispute. I recently bought a product (not knock-off) from China and it turned out to be so defective as to be unusable. After many emails, photos and video evidence of the problems, the best they offered me was a 10 refund against a useless item that cost me 80. Getting PayPal involved was little help; though they sided with me, I was required to return the item to China at my expense for a refund. Post cost was 40, leaving me well out of pocket due to a shoddy item shipped from another Chinese supplier that doesnt give a crap.

Thanks for the feed back   But money is money.   Im on a budget.   To be frank.   Im not interested in any fake sticker branding these things come with.   I just want a cheap end can thats going to A change the looks of my bike B.save me money. C give me a possible sound change. D.  Save weight.     If I had the time and tools and materials Id make my own.   Sadly I dont.

Guys. My new exhaust end can from China arrived Thursday and today was the fitting.   So noise wise its about the same.   I did decibel check before and after. This was done on tick over and at 3000 rpm.  However, popping...omg a lot more louder.   Overall sound deeper.   About 5000rpm down the road.   Definitely louder.   Im pleased as punch.   I wanted a tiny bit more noise and a deeper tone.  I have it.    I also wanted a new look.  I have it.   The bonus.   Old can weighed in at 2.5kg.   This one 1.4kg.    All in all.  For 75 notes.   Not a bad buy.
One thing to note.   The smaller of the two pipes which connect to the cat box.   Was over sized.   But with an angle grinder and a file I soon rectified that.
