BMW S1000F Concept
« on: February 18, 2014, 11:46:29 AM »
Not sure if you've seen this BMW S1000F concept bike that appeared in the Italian and German mags over the past few days. There's rumours it could be produced for 2015 but that's pure speculation.

Interestingly the bike is said to be powered by the S1000R engine. If you think about it then makes sense as the bike would be utilising the engine to the full whilst filling a segment of the market in which other manufacturers are currently dominant.

Screen looks a bit like a Tiger Sport but I can see the rest makes a lot of sense and could be quite viable (unlike some concepts we never eventually see).

One to watch, it might end up being a sister model to the S1000R !     :821:

Front end looks like a bit like a Tiger 1050. If its true then it would probably be serious competition for other manufacturers as many of them have similar bikes. Tiger 1050, Crosstourer, and a few others spring to mind. Apart from the engine I bet the frame is identical so only a few other parts would need to be changed to create it. Plus a few changes to geometry to raise the ground clearance up a little. Think it will happen because it makes sense. Bet we see something like it at EICMA later in the year or soon after. BMW would be bonkers not to run with it. MCN will have their infamous "spy" shots in a few months, betcha !

It's in this weeks Motorcycle News, front cover in fact, although it's not mentioned at all on their website. Not sure if the pics in the rag are photoshop mockups or the real thing, hard to tell sometimes   :027:

This is on the cover of MCN and yes its been photoshopped to death  :138:

Still all rumour mill stuff though, nothing definite as yet. Apart from Marquez being out MCN have nothing to talk about at the moment (the mag is sooo thin !) so they love to put these rumours about in their "off season" otherwise they wouldn't sell anything.

There is a similar bike in this week's rag but it has the boxer water cooled engine.
