To me this is the best option, I've had Akrapovic pipes and don't like the excessive noise and the loss of low and mid range, with this I lose the huge cat or catheter bag as Archie puts it, I still have the flap in the pipes, it's legal or very nearly, and it's cheap, this system cost me 125!!

Goods job fitting there!! And I think it looks OK.   :047:

I am interested to see how it goes when you put a shorty on her. Personally, I think the flapper is only there to aid noise emissions control, but that is MY understanding.

I have a full Akra (with long can), an whilst loudish, I do not find it too loud and like the deeper tone of the Akra, but I think a shorty can on the headers you have is going to be much louder. Only time and fitting will tell though.

Keep us posted.

Thank you Simon, I'm pleased with it even as it is with the big ole can, but I'm sure it'll look good with the new carbon one I've ordered today.

Well done! One q would be if you notice any difference in acceleration or torque at lower revs for example... Gain or loss. Somehow I have the feeling of watching a 2017 face lifted S1kR.
Yes I feel it is better served cosmetically now without the box under. And as you say a nice slip on will make it look great.
Looking forward for pics and why not a clip?

Thanks, you were a big help Amp with your original post and photo, spurred me on!

Can't say as I noticed any difference in torque or low/mid range power, I'll post more next week when the new carbon can arrives. For interest, it's a Scorpion Serket Taper.

Im guessing the front valve would have to be jammed open for sure ?

My gut feeling would be to leave it open (the front one, and the rear one for that matter if you are removing the valves)

Looks great Toolman, apart from the silencer. Does this mean you'd have to buy a slip on to suit a 15 RR rather than a R? I know they're a different fit as I was sent the wrong part not too long ago.
