Digging into it a bit more, all models of the S1000 R/RR/XR have a slightly asymmetrical swing arm. This is not a BMW model issue, but lies with what version of the Lightech adjuster you have. 

I think the earlier Lightech versions were machined properly, but when they updated the design around 2016 they inadvertently made both adjuster's the same length.

The previous Lightech design has a very smooth finish (which fits correctly), the later one has small grooves machined in - that's the one I think is causing the problems.
