You may want to look at KFM-Motorrader.com. They have excellent prices! The only issue is their flat rate shipping of 55 euros to the US, but f you are buying enough (may be group up with a couple of others who want OEM stuff) it works out way cheaper. I bought 6 LED indicators (4 for the wife's GS and 2 to finish my S1kR) and it wokred out a little cheaper than buying for the dealer here in the US. I had to buy a camshaft for my K1300S, I saved over $300 buying it through KFM over the dealer prices listed!!! (list was somewhere around $750, paid around $430 including shipping from KFM).

Thank you for the info, I will check it out.

For the S1KR do we need a relay to switch to LED?  And do we really need a harness, can we splice the existing wire with LED wire?

With the harness (#77 51 8 551 391) it should just be plug and play with the LED indicators (#63 13 8 522 503).

The front just unplug and remove the 'floppy' indicators. For the rear you will need to remove the lens and reflector and then unplug the 2 wires(each side) and feed the harness back up into the space under the seat. Installation is pretty much the reverse apart from the rear being plugged in (using the new harness)

Do you know if anything needs to be coded for US version? I read on one of the sites that sells these that coding might be needed for LED version.

The BMW LEDs are no longer legal in the US(thanks the NHTSA), the coding option has been removed from their ISTA program.

I have already checked this out at my dealers who could code it back 2014 when I got my R, but could not code it in 2017 when I got my XR. You could add BMW LEDs, but you would have to put resistors in line.

Well LEDs are legal (my R1 lights are fully LED), I am guessing it's the size of those blinkers :) So stupid. A 20k bike had 1999 lighting...

I put the BMW LED version blinkers on my bike without any coding or resistors and only noticed very slight increase in blinker speed. The fronts are plug and play. The rears will need to be cut and soldered.

There is a rear harness from BMW that you can use without cutting, but again, you cannot buy the BMW LEDs from a BMW dealer in the USA.

What year is your bike? From what I am reading here 17+ cannot be coded for these to work.
