Amazing bike!
on: July 15, 2015, 06:48:05 PM
Looking at the "what age are you" thread I'm realizing that the average age of most of the forum members that own an S1R is in the 40's. I can't tell you how much I enjoy this bike and I'm very grateful to BMW for making a comfortable, easy to ride superbike for us guys over the hill.  :821:

I'm 50 and love this bike, although not for its comfort as my Blackbird is more comfortable. What I love is the power, handling and brakes. I also like the fact it doesn't encourage you to ride everywhere at 160mph. Superb machine, great fun.

I absolutely agree, this is a fantastic bike. :046:
Most of my life, I drank whiskey, rode bikes, and chased women..........the rest of it I just wasted.

Your absolutely right about how this machine does not encourage you to ride at breakneck speeds everywhere you go. I understand what you are saying but man is it hard to explain that to people that have never ridden this superb bike.

It's a transformative bike, I feel 18 when I ride mine :305: Thats a 35 year drop just for swinging my leg over.

:0461: As it already has been said here, I love the power delivery, handling, breaks and especially the electronics safety features.

I'm 66 and 1/2! I'm too old to be riding such a bike! Did BMW Training and Track Day at Silverstone Tuesday - had a ball with instructer Bob and a Steve Plater. Top blokes! Didn't get my knee down (don't hang off enough!) but learnt a lot - rode to Silverstone and back - result! My bike was amazing - too much for this pensioner - but I love this S1000R Sport - 130mph and still pulling like a train - lovely!
