Kind of a tough place to get a good photo. How about the empty box?  :001:

Simon I ordered through Hard Racing Performance. They had a sale in Feb. Got it for $317.00. I have bugged Ohlins in Hendersonville on a regular basis to get updates.

They sent me a quote now for $397  :005:

Ok cool but you paid a lot for it. You could always get it for around $420 AUD delivered from here https://www.omniaracing.net/en/ohlins-linear-steering-damper-for-bmw-s1000r-2014-p-20689.html

With exchange rate comes to around $305 (but need to add on shipping)

That was the shipped price to Australia and cant imagine it would be different to the US.

Still waiting on mine...not sure what the hold up is.

I'm really interested in the mounting bracket that slides over the damper body. If anyone gets a chance to post a photo of it mounted that would be appreciated.

Cheers

All fitted, might be just placebo but it does feel better.
Out of the box on the recommended settings the hlins unit is softer than stock which makes it feel like it turns in quicker and makes it a bit sharper.
I cranked the damping up a bit and tried to make the head shake a bit but couldn't really do it however I don't think you can get over the geometry of the bike.  Then again I don't experience the head shake the way other people here have; so I think ill need to play around with it a bit more.

@Lowrance
There's no bracket, the damper is a single piece of metal with a replacement sleeve that brings the bolt up to the frame.
