    Winglets on M1000R...

    Evening

I like the M1000R, except for the winglets!  Do they really make a difference for road riding (BMW's blurb says 11kg downforce at 220kpg (137mph))?  Has anyone marketed a blanking plate yet?

    Thanks

Of course they dont make a difference on the road….its not really a good road bike IMhO…and I say that as an owner of a H2 which also isnt a great road bike.

Would be easy enough to plug the fixing holes easy enough , a plate would only drawer your eye to the area.

S1000R fairings is probably the way to go. The fairings that come with the M look a bit of state with the wings.

I’m happy to leave them on as the look pretty decent.

You could improve the appearance of the winglets by swapping them out with the Ilmberger carbon jobs............. At £560 a side, or thereabouts. I wrote to them to complain about the pricing. Ridiculous. :020:

Just received my Chinese wings. Look good, holes need to be enlarged for rubber washers for screws. Got the bike stripped down for other mods, once she's back together I'll get some pics

Please send a link to where you purchased the Chinese items. I'm intrigued.

This is the store. I fitted them yesterday, holes needed some work. Overall quality is good.
