    Hello,

My friend wants to sell his S1000R, he brought it from a dealer who imported it used from abroad only a few months ago, I checked the vin and this website came up to me,
    https://www.adamoto.net/product/bmw-s1000r-2805-20221130-bds
    VIN: WB10D0206FZ405525

auction No: 2805 (BDS Kanto), (is it from japan?)

I'm not familiar with auctions and how they evaluate stuff, most stuff are Lv1 but some are Lv3 and the overall rating is not that good (maybe it's good for a bike that old), is there something wrong with the engine?

please note that this is the only S1000R available for sale in my country, it's not that I can easily go and look for some other bike, so please don't suggest finding another S1000R.

It looks as if they rate things very harshly. For example, they give the frame a 4 out of ten rating, because it haas some cable rub marks by the headstock and a bit of one peg feeler is ground down a bit.
In my world, that would rate a nine out of ten.

My guess is that the bike is fine. Looking through all the photos I couldn't see anything of concern.

Yes that bike is from a Japanese auction. That's not unusual as most used bikes are sold by auction in Japan and exporting is common.

The used rating system runs from 0 to 6 (with 6 being the best, basically new). Higher than 6 is also new. If it's rated 4 overall then it should be visually pretty good with a few minor imperfections.

However, I see that the engine is only rated as 3. That's would raise some concerns as it's probably got some issue, an oil leak, high mileage, or it's noisy. The mileage is listed at 14000km which is not that high so this engine has an issue. I would expect the engine to be rated at 4 or above tbh.

    Be careful.
