2022 - Radiator Guards - BMW vs Evotech

I'm looking at fitting radiator/oil cooler guard to my '22 model.  I've ordered the genuine BMW ones as they're half the cost of the EvoTech.  Currently on the bike there's a horizontal plastic piece in between the bottom of the radiator and the top of the oil cooler.  When I look at the pictures of the Evotech ones fitted, the photos show that the guards sit behind that plastic frame.  However on the BMW pictures, the plastic piece seems to be missing showing a visible gap.

Has anyone on here got the BMW guards fitted and can you confirm whether there's a visible gap or whether that plastic piece remains, hiding it?  Thanks

    For future information seekers...

I recently fitted the BMW-branded radiator guards to my 2023 K63 S1000R. I can confirm that there is NOT an exposed gap between the two guards, as seen in the attached photo: https://imgur.com/a/lNyZq4K

Notably, I received feedback from the place that sold me my BMW-branded guards that the Evotech ones, while nice, would rattle at high speed on certain bikes.
