Can't seem to put the Ddc in soft mode. Watching on you tube and mine doesn't go to soft mode. I'm thinking when bmw did a update I lost the ability to soften the suspension. Any ideas?

I assume you checked for the helmet icon ....One versus two. You should be able to toggle between both.

AFAIK the 14-16 had the 3 options in DDC(Dynamic Damping Control) for 'Soft', 'Road' and 'Hard', the 17 onwards only had the 2 options for Dynamic ESA of 'Road' and 'Dynamic'. So, I don't think you are missing anything, that is how your bike is.

This is 100% correct. The 2017-2019 bikes only had 2 settings, Road and Dynamic.

I agree. However, there is also a setting option for 1 or 2up riding ( the helmet icons) which, (and I could very well be wrong) affects the compression damping. There isn't anything worth much in the the manual as far as detail but having ridden solo in both modes i have seen a notably harsher ride quality regardless of being in either Road or Dynamic with the "2up" on the display.
If anyone knows specifically the impact it has on the overall suspension, it would be appreciated. I guess solo rider weight could also be a factor.

It may be he has the '16 model' as our cousins across the pond call a year ahead. Clarification would be helpful

I wish there was a soft mode!   One feature I miss from my 2015.
