Holly crap, yes re looking at your pics, enlarged, I have to agree with the Corrosion Idea, It would be VERY interesting to know some history on this bike, how many owners, milage, and what it was washed with.?

hhhhhhhhhm its basically a new bike. stored in a barn for 3 years its only got 6000 km's on it

Ok well thats rather worrying really, not seen this before, and obviously missed the other threads on it... What does a rub with WD40 on a cloth do .?

Was the barn damp, it looks like the bike has been stored in a humid environment.
