Hi there all
I had a 2016 S1R a few years ago and I'm thinking of now getting the second generation version.
I saw one comment (I forget where) that the LED headlight is not very effective? Can any owners confirm or deny??
I'd also like to fit some sort of very small fly screen - mostly to help 'balance' the bikes proportions and not have the front end look so droopy?! I'm having trouble finding anything from the usual suppliers...any suggestions??
Thanks guys!
I'd like to get some comfort on both these questions before making a decision...
Cheers!

I don't have a problem with the amount of light on the 2021

Although i haven't been down a pitch black country road yet

No aftermarket screens yet

Itís a 2016 bike he is asking about.

I have a 2014 and I think the lights are fine. I use the BMW Sports screen which seems to suit the bike.

Headlight on my 2018 is 'acceptable'. I've got the Wunderlich sports screen fitted. Doesn't offer much in the way of wind protection unless you're crouched but it suits the bike well imo.

Are you asking about the gen 2 version (asymmetric halogen headlights) or the latest gen 3 version (single LED headlight)?

Guys
Sorry for any confusion - its a 2021 new model I'm looking at with the single LED headlight. I'm assuming one can't do any aftermarket upgrades to that unit if it needs any improvement??

I had a 2016 previously - and put an HID bulb in the low beam side which was a huge improvement!

Thanks all!

I find the light output is good - bright light gets noticed in daytime. At night, it is not great. The beam pattern has bright spots and there is not enough throw to see far enough ahead to feel relaxed about wild animals etc and it makes night-riding uncomfortable. In the rain at night I would have to be really cautious but then probably would be anyway. Don't know if the light can be adjusted - RTFM, I know ...
It is acceptable, just - I wouldn't say any more than that.

The 21 s1000r headlight is sh#t. You get a a white line in front of the bike across the road and nothing where you want to see. Full beam lights up the trees.
